Tina lived in Africa, in Niger, in a small village called Kouré, where humans and giraffes lived very close to each other but could never become friends. Anita asks Tina, who replies: "You have to bring me home. That’s the only way I can be a giraffe again, and if a human brings me back to my village then the rule will be repealed and I’ll have shown everyone that humans and giraffes can be friends." 

A rich and absorbing story, and an amazing and moving adventure, this is the story of the determination of a little girl who has to get her parents to take her to Africa without telling them why, because some truths are impossible for adults to accept.
